The Course Grade Distribution was:
| Grade | Weighted Course Score | #'s of Students |
|---|---|---|
| A | 62 + | 35 |
| B | 48 - 62 | 46 |
| C | 32 - 48 | 67 |
| D | 26 - 32 | 17 |
| F | 0 - 32 | 9 |
The Weighted Course Score was computed in the following way: First the two exam scores were normalized on a 100 point basis. Then a weighted average of the two exams was computed with the midterm getting weight 0.40 and the final 0.60. However, if one exam was very much better than the other, some of the weight on the poorer exam was transferred to the better exam score. The greater the difference, the bigger the adjustment.
The normalized scores for the two exams were computed by dividing the midterm (raw) score by 0.9 and the final (raw) score by 1.4.
